Anything else?
I recently lost my mother following the most fantastic care at Musgrove, who are now currently caring for my father who has very complex care issues.
I cannot rate this hospital highly enough. Clean, friendly, welcoming and the caring they exhibit is everything that was good about the NHS in the 1970's when I joined it. A truly professional unit in the many departments I have had to encounter over the past couple of years and very understanding and helpful in recognising the distance between me in London and the worries I have for my parents far away.
The only gripe I have is that of transport and the problems for my father travelling to a remote village when his condition does not allow him to drive and the complete lack of assistance in that area but that, I know, is also a nationwide issue.
I am so delighted with the level of care at Musgrove Hospital and cannot give my grateful thanks enough to the incredibly busy but caring staff. The Consultants ring me when I ask, the nurses hold my father's hand and help him through his grief, the day to day care is absolutely phenomenal, cleaning staff who smile and say hello as you walk past and how impressed was I when helping my mother along a corridor to visit my father, we were stopped by a gentleman wearing a rapid response team shirt, who told my mother to stay where she was and rushed off to find her a wheelchair and took her to the ward to visit - without even a prompt to do so. Now that was impressive ~ but merely exhibits the very fabric of attitude apparent at this fantastic hospital.
If I could award a gold medal for excellent care, for service to friends and family and for absolute professionalism it would be to every member of staff at Musgrove Hospital.
Thank you so much to everyone.
"A little nugget of excellence still remaining in..."
