"Prediabetic course completion"

About: Promoting Well Being / Diabetes Prevention team

(as the patient),

I suffered a stroke in 2015. As a result ,I became very inactive. I was on medication and having blood tests and I showed up prediabetic. The NHS course was suggested by my nurse and I was enrolled.

I was introduced to balanced nutrition, the value of an active lifestyle, meal planning and monitoring progress, over the nine months of the course. I lost 16 kgs and achieved regular habits and a health conscious approach. My blood sugar improved and hopefully I have learned to avoid diabetes in the future.

My thanks to Adam and my fellows on the course for the lively atmosphere in the sessions, which proved of infinite value to me.

Hi 'Second Chance',

This is a good news story. Sometimes in life there are obstacles that are put in our path to ensure a happy healthy life.

That said it is great to hear that you were able to do something about your circumstances that you didn't want for yourself anymore, it certainly sounds like the course support was great from all involved.

Take care,

James
