"Phlebotomy service Ninewells"

About: Ninewells Hospital / Blood Sciences

(as a service user),

Poor signage. Only 3 allowed in waiting area but the only sign saying this was obscured by another person sitting in front of it. No clear queuing system. When the door opened it was just the most assertive person who got to go in next. The tickets are only in the waiting room, no way of knowing who is next in the queue for the waiting room. It was a bit of a shambles today.

Dear Grumpy1959

It is unfortunate that you had a negative experience during your recent visit to the Phlebotomy Department at Ninewells Hospital.

Due to Infection and Prevention Control and the ongoing COVID19 pandemic associated restrictions, we can only allow 3 patients into the waiting area at any given time due to the small area and cannot have extensive seating in the corridors.

We are however exploring alternate ticketing options to locate outside the door and have reviewed all signage in the area to ensure it is clear and visible at all times. Thank you for your feedback.

With best wishes

Karen Taylor, Associate Service Manager, Specialist Haematology/Phlebotomy
