My gran sadly took a stroke and was transferred to ward 57.
I do not rate ward 57. The staff are run off there feet and while they are doing there best, there is simply not enough of them.
I found one member of staff to be ignorant, trying to stay out of the way of visitors and never returning my calls when they said they would.
There was one particular Angel in the ward, who deserves some recognition for the kindness, compassion and empathy they had shown to my Gran, and also to me when I was upset in the ward.
They were amazing and could not have done enough for all of the patients. I felt like I could put my head on my pillow and sleep soundly when this person was on shift.
The experience myself and my family had in ward 57 was not great at all, however, this staff member managed to shine some light on a bad experience and make it a bit better for us.
Please pass my sincere thanks to them. I will never forget them for what they did for my Gran and my family.
They are the definition of an angel.
There was also another staff member.
This person was excellent and welcomed us into the ward and settled my Gran in.
This person was also an angel and they were a very very hard worker with a smile on their face for all of the patients.
Sadly, my Gran passed away in the Royal Alexandra hospital.
My Gran was thankful for everything that was done for her by all staff members.
