"The Covid Team"

I was recently diagnosed as COVID positive and was quite ill with it, even though I am fully vaccinated. 

I suffer with a serious and debilitating lung illness and take steroids as part of my ongoing treatment. Due to this illness I am classed as Vulnerable within the COVID context. During my Covid isolation I was referred to the Local COVID Team by my GP.

It is without doubt one of the finest medical experiences I have ever had. The Team contacted me daily, 7 days a week for about 3 / 4 weeks. The understanding and knowledge from the team was second to none and the confidence they instilled in me and the way they dispelled my feelings of anxiousness, definitely stopped me from having to attend hospital.

If my experience is anything to go by, the cost of providing this service would be more than compensated by the savings made in A&E attendance and pressure on ICU units elsewhere in the NHS.

I would particularly like to thank Doctors (Mr & Mrs) Young, whose dedication and concern were absolutely  wonderful and caring.
