My husband went to a GP who undertook particular medicals for his role (this was a different medical practice and not his own GP who can't do these particular medicals). As part of his medical he was asked to produce a urine sample which showed to have blood in this. The GP undertaking the medical sent this to the local laboratory requesting results to go the my husbands own GP to look into this.
When my husband contacted his own GP he was very rudely told by the receptionist that this was nothing to do with them and that they were having no part in passing on results. He therefore had to go back to the medical practice who dealt with this in the first instance to source results to find out what the problem was. This medical practice will helpfully send out the results to our home address along with a letter that has to be taken to my husbands own GP to be dealt with.
Given that this was done locally, I think this could and should have been dealt with/taken up by my husbands own GP to look into in the first instance. As a result this has been delayed for a further 2 weeks to which I hope this is nothing serious.
Extremely poor practice from own GP/medical practice but very helpful from the other.
