"I would never have imagined the response would be so slow"

About: Bromley Healthcare / Speech and Language Therapy for Children

(as a parent/guardian),

I am so disappointed with Speech and Language in Bromley. My daughter was referred in March 2020 with language delay. It is now the end of September 2021 and so far she has just been assessed once and labelled with complex social and communication difficulties but has had no speech and language therapy. She will be starting school in a year and early treatment could have made a difference for her. It is so sad to see her struggling to communicate her needs and we have never had a conversation with her even though she will soon be 4 years old. The frustration is hard on both sides as we struggle to understand one another. I would never have imagined the response would be so slow. I have been in contact with them and we have not been lost to follow-up etc. This is just the genuine wait and it is atrocious.
