"Positive activities at William Wake House"

About: Medium Secure Division / Robinson

(as a service user),

St Andrews health care: William Wake house, is not a bad environment as this mental hospital, and the engagement team offer many positive 'service use involvements' opportunities. For example Hospital hope competitions, Co-production logo competitions which involves ward round feedback sheets been redesigned and worded, co production wall which promotes good practice from staff and positive work of patients. Further more a member of staff on the ward teaches patients photograph and then these photos are printed out put on the ward walls.

Some nights staff do jewellery making sessions so we can give our family gifts.

Our O.T (occupation therapy team) are very good, caring and  instructed to help the patients on the ward. The manager of the ward, and deputy managers fully support all the above which also includes an inclusion budget (hardship budget) for patients struggling financially. 'The majority' one the ward staff are serving and caring despite being short staffed.
