"Communication problems"

About: Crisis Mental Health / Adult home treatment teams (North and South)

(as a service user),

After battling with my mental health, it took a decline recently. I Managed to voice some what I thought were unspeakable things which were intrusive thoughts to my care co-ordinate. I ended up under home treatment team. I'm thankful for the support but I believe this service needs looking at. For reasons like communication for example; they said they would ring me but not doing so and just turning up at my home. They missed a day to call me also I would be waiting all day for them to call which ended up being late in the day. Struggling and not knowing if I would have any support that day was really distressing of being in the unknown. I hope this feedback will be helpful and hopefully no distress is caused to others.

hello,

So sorry to hear that your experience with the Home Treatment Team was not positive. In terms of planning care, each Service user has a care plan which is updated daily and checked first thing in the morning during the team handover. As a team we do not usually turn up at people's home unless we have not been able to make contact with them. It is possible that they tried to get through but were unable to. I apologise if this was not the case.

When a clinician is allocated to a Service user they do attempt to make contact that day unless there is some urgent work that takes precedence. It can be that it leaves calling people later in the day. I hope that you were given the contact details for the service as we always encourage people to contact us.

I will remind staff to ensure care plans are up to date and correct.

I hope that the care that was delivered was of a good standard.

best wishes
