"My stay at Hatton Ward"

The care from the nurses and support staff on Hatton Ward was exceptional. The theatre staff were also so supportive especially Diane who had come over from Grantham. I couldn't fault the care I received on the ward from the ward staff they really were amazing, kind, considerate and patient .  Not wanting to buzz for help so as to be a ‘pain’ I was constantly reminded I should buzz for help, that is what there are there to do.  Every member of staff on the ward deserves such praise for their kindness they show to every patient and how they support one another as a team. What an incredible group of people. 

One consultant I saw on the ward round I felt was not as 'on the ball' as I challenged a decision they had made and thankfully I did and following a scan I requested, it was discovered my infection was quite bad. I have come home with the infection and, I feel, due to a not too bothered attitude from said consultant, my infection was not dealt with appropriately or quick enough. But thankfully other consultants and doctors then saw it and began to deal with it correctly and quickly.  

Apart from that I felt the quality of my care during my stay was outstanding. From the cleanliness of the ward to the professionalism of all staff.
