Due to a health condition I had to be referred to the high risk clinic to recurve my first vaccination- to get to this stage was a bit frustrating however once I was managed to speak with someone at public health I was contacted by the nurse in charge of the clinic. On the day she made me feel relaxed despite being in my local A+E at the Victoria Hospital for the clinic. I had to be observed for 30min and in this time the nurse and nursing assistant made me feel comfortable. I was then contacted a few days after to see how I had been and then a few days after that to let me know the specialist panels decision on where I should get my second vaccination. I have just received my second vaccination today (17th July) in a community setting however I had to phone for an appointment and was told I must have gotten lost in the system due to going from one pathway to another. The nurses and the nursing assistants today at Carnegie Campus were second to none and made me feel at ease. Despite a few hiccups along the way in receiving my vaccination I would like to commend the high-risk clinic at the Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy and all the staff at the Carnegie Campus for the work they are doing.
