"1 hours journey, long wait for ambulance, service cuts in Whitby disgusting"

I live in Whitby North Yorkshire.

I recently had an acute asthma attack which is terrifying in itself, but since the closing of the hospital A and E after 6pm in the evening it is even more terrifying. I am 25 miles away from Scarborough hospital, but it is not a straight 25 miles it is over the North Yorkshire Moors in a rickety ambulance feeling sick and breathless.

The local people fought hard to keep the hospital at all and there are continuous threats of total closure.

There will be deaths and lawsuits if something isn't done and our A and E put back on 24 hour. Also the hospital could be utilised much better and more services held there, wards could be opened, lives could be saved and made more comfortable.

Once you get to Scarborough unless you have money for a taxi you have problems getting home, how stupid is that? If you get patient transport after waiting for hours that transport could be doing something more important if the hospital in Whitby were still operating properly.

Please, reinstate full services at Whitby hospital North Yorkshire and look after people like the NHS should be.
