"My Father"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Elderly Medicine (Wards 51, 52, 54,55, 57, 8a & 2a)

(as a parent/guardian),

My Father in law was admitted to hospital from his nursing home and ended up in ward 51.

We thought he was going to get home but weeks later his dementia progressed and we were told by the doctors that he was going to be put on end of life care.

My husband and my mother in law were always communicated with, especially the ward secretary Allison. My husband spoke highly of the nursing staff in particular Gwen, Jazz, Maureen, Anne and Maisy, who were caring for my Father in law when he passed.

He was peaceful and the ward thankfully allowed us to come up and visit.

Thank you to all the staff in ward 51 from the doctors, cleaners, porters, nurses and ambulance crew.

Dear jivegd73

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback of your experience of visiting your father in law in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, in what must have been an extremely difficult time for you and all the family.

I was sorry to hear of your father in laws passing and would like to offer our deepest condolences for your family loss from myself and everyone at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

It was nice to hear how the staff were supportive and caring towards your father in law and he passed away peacefully with his family around him.

I will be happy to pass on your lovely comments to the staff involved who I'm sure will be as touched as I was to read your comments.

Please take care and thanks again this means a lot to all the staff involved

Kind regards

Kevin
