"They were always happy and willing to help"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Acute Receiving Unit (Ward 2c)

(as a parent/guardian),

Last Tuesday I took my child to the A& E department as she was extremely ill and after trying doctor and my local A& E with no help I have to say QEUH were amazing from the minute we walked through the doors.

A& E doctors, nurses and also student doctors took the time to speak to me regarding exactly what was going on with my child, this took some time since it had been an ongoing thing. After just a few hours and proper checks they diagnosed my daughter with pneumonia which was a shock. We were then transfered to ward 2c into our own room with a cot for my girl and fold down bed for myself.

My consultants on the ward put my mind at ease and made sure she recieved the best care. On the ward I dealt with mostly Jessica, Deanna and also 2 student nurses Sammy & Lauren who are a credit to their university. There was many other nurses coming and going always happy and willing to help. After 8 days we are now home with ongoing care from the QEUH. I have never experienced the care my daughter recieved and these ladies deserve all the credit. Thank you for my making my girl better and thank you for the care we recieved we will never forget it.

Dear Nicole,

Thank you so very much for taking the time to provide feedback to us following your wee girls admission last night. That must have been such a truly worrying time for you, particularly as your daughter was so poorly.

I was so delighted to read how our Emergency Team took the time to speak to you, undertake the diagnostic tests and then arrange admission to Ward 2C.

We're really proud of the care our Ward 2C team provided to your wee girl and of course to you as well, and that they were able to help make your daughter better. We're so grateful to you for trusting us with her care.

I can share with you that our Senior Management Team will pass on their personal thanks alongside your own.

I hope your little girl is now feeling much better and is recovering well

Take care

Coral
