My mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and admitted for the insertion of a stent to alleviate symptoms of jaundice. Very sadly she deteriorated very quickly and died 2 weeks later.
That was devastating for us but what helped us all to cope was the AMAZING care and attention she received from the staff on Hound Ward at Derriford Hospital.
When I say staff I need to emphasise that I refer to everyone - the cleaners, the caterers, the nurses and the doctors. It was so evident that this ward is staffed with kind, caring, committed professionals who truly care about the individual and their total well being.
In addition, we the family, were also recipients of this care and kindness. Never before have I witnessed such care.
"Amazing care and attention"
