From the 999 call to discharge, all the care I received was exemplary.
I suffered a heart attack and the paramedics were so good, I don't know their names but they could not have done more. Driving along the A1 blue lights flashing, the young man managed to put a cannula in and when we arrived at the Royal, the staff were standing outside waiting for me. Straight into the Cardiac Cath Lab and treated with care and respect. Once the staff there were done, I was transferred to the CCU and once again, the staff could not have done more for me. Colin, my named nurse, was so attentive as were all the other people I came into contact with. Dr Japp explained everything in great detail and made sure I was involved in all the decision making.
I was then transferred to 103 where I stayed for another day. Whilst the staff were run off their feet and clearly under great pressure, they did their jobs with great professionalism and that ranged from the nursing staff to the ancillary staff and everyone in-between.
The doctors were informative and responsive to my questions.
Once I was discharged, the next day I received a phone call from the cardiac rehab team with an appointment for a telephone follow-up the following day.
All in all, I cannot rate the service highly enough and would like to thank everyone involved in my care.
"great professionalism"
