"Experience parking at the hospital"

About: Crosshouse Hospital NHS Ayrshire & Arran / Covid Vaccination Programme

(as a service user),

I was running late for an appointment at Crosshouse Hospital. I parked in the shade at the hospital. I noticed portacabin huts adjacent to the diabetic day centre. A staff member in a green NHS tee shirt with jeans approached me telling me to move my car and park it over there. I explained that I had my dogs in the car and I can only get shade here and therefore would not be moving my car. They then explained that this was a covid testing car park and that I was at risk of transmission. I explained that I was a fair distance from the testing centre, and the car park was empty. I also noticed members of the testing staff were sitting outside the portacabins not observing social distancing, and that the risk of transmission of covid-19 has increased with approaching me! I explained that I am late for an appontment and I must go. The staff member then took my car registration number and asked me for my name. I said it was none of their business. On exiting after my appointment Covid testing staff were still outside, not social distancing and the car park was still empty!

This has left me feeling, stressed annoyed and frustrated. I felt that there was a lack of professionalism, poor communication skills and a lack of understanding.
