"Outstanding care from all staff"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Renal and Transplant Services (Ward 4a, 4d)

(as the patient),

I have been in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow now past seven weeks I was admitted to the Renal ward 4D due to a severe infection and problems with my kidney function this was my first experience of this hospital as I normally get admitted to RAH in Paisley.

During my stay at the QEUH I cannot fault any aspects of my care especially two of the staff charge nurses and most of the Staff nurses who went out there way to help me in all aspects of my stay and too the nurses who went out their way to take me downstairs to the shop for much needed drinks and snacks . I also would like to thank the catering staff who always went above and beyond to cater for my needs during my stay as it was a different menu on the renal ward to the normal food menu, which needs to be looked at again with better choices than what is on the menu now as it's disgusting.

Thank you once again for my outstanding care which the nurses should be praised for

Dear Waterloo,

Thank you for taking the time to post this kind response regarding your recent experience of ward 4D Renal. I know the Senior Charge Nurse, Anne Marie Burns and her team work very hard to ensure patient experience is core to everything they do. I will share your feedback with them which I know they will appreciate and have also shared with catering colleagues whom we work closely with to enable them to respond to you.

Thank you again for sharing this feedback. I wish you well in your recovery.

Kind Regards

Elaine Burt

Dear Waterloo

Thank you for your feedback. The renal menu is different from the standard menu, as you say, and it is due to be reviewed. If you have any specific feedback about what you’d like to see more of on the menu or indeed, less of, we would welcome your thoughts. Please get in touch with either Kate Murray, Head of Catering on kate.murray@ggc.scot.nhs.uk or myself at helen.blackwell@ggc.scot.nhs.uk

Kind Regards

Helen
