After my GP unaccountably told me to come back in a month when I showed him what turned out to be a squamous cell cancer ("nothing to worry about") I got referred to the local NHS Hospital at Treliske in Cornwall. By the then the lesion was quite large. They quickly set up a surgical excision which went really well and two weeks later the cancer has gone, though I will need some radiotherapy to reduce the risk of reocurrence. All the staff in dermatology were great, the surgeon was brilliant, they were swift, efficient and effective. I couldn't fault the treatment and I am amazed they can achieve this at a difficult time for the NHS.
