My little boy (who is a toddler) was taken to Wishaw General by ambulance after he started having breathing problems at home. He ended up in the hospital for around 24 hours.
Every nurse and doctor we met was full of smiles and consideration for my poor, wee boy and made sure that he had a chance to giggle and feel special even though he wasn't well at all.
One nurse went and found him a dinosaur sticker when she saw he liked dinosaurs, and one of the doctors let him play about with her stethoscope so he wouldn't be scared of it. The first doctor we saw on admission was so patient with him and even asked about his favourite things and gave him a wee tickle.
I've been in twice for these kind of visits now and think Wishaw General's paediatric department is wonderful and their staff are very child-centred.
