Since December 2020 I have been experiencing a tingling sensation in the right hand side of my head pretty much 24/7. My father passed away at the age of 39, very suddenly, with lots of cancerous lumps in his head so it was a bit of a worry for me. After many trips back and forward to my GP and countless amounts of blood tests with no significant answers. I was referred to Neurology, this was at the beginning of March.
On Friday of last week I received a phone call around 3: 45pm, it was the appointment centre offering me a phone consultation with the Neurology dept the next morning at 9: 20am, I got up and made sure I was ready for the call. 9: 20 came and went so at 9: 50 I phoned the DGRI switchboard to be told by the operator to just wait longer, someone would call me. Over the next hour or so I tried the appointment centre number which was closed due to it being the weekend and I also tried the number for the secretary of the dept. I did not receive a phone call at all which was very disappointing.
I had to wait until Monday to phone the appointment centre again, the operator there just said oh, no one phoned, they would get in touch with the secretary to make me another appointment...I'm still waiting now for that appointment with no answers as to why I didn't receive the call. Makes me wonder had it been a face to face appointment if I'd have turned up at the hospital would I still be sat there now?
I also hope that I haven't been listed as a 'missed appointment' on my behalf...Normally have no complaints about our NHS but I would like an answer to this one!
"Appointment not received."
