"Waiting far too long"

About: April House

(as a service user),

Today marks day 416 as an urgent case for eating disorder services. No treatment is on the horizon either. According to April House I still and I quote have months and months left to wait. The wait has encouraged my eating disorder dramatically. With no opportunity insight their services have left me to become very suicidal.

Hi

We would like to apologise for the wait you are experiencing with April House.

We asked the Service to comment:

'Eating disorders are aware of the long list and are looking at ways to improve this. They are currently in discussion with the CCG,s to narrow our referral criteria temporarily

They have put a business case forward to the CCG’s for extra finances to allow us to recruit more staff due to the increase in referrals and we are hoping for some transformational money to be released to do so.

With the start of the physical health monitoring team on 13 September, as part of their role they will case manage the very high risk patients which will release therapist times to offer therapy slots to those on the waiting list'.

If you would like to contact the Complaints and Patient Experience Team, please email: complaints@southernhealth.nhs.uk or telephone 02382311200.

Kind Regards

Nikki
