"Care we received as a family."

About: Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Paediatrics

(as a parent/guardian),

I would like to take this opportunity to give feedback about the care my child has received this past few years from the team on both ward 6 & 16.

And also the support we have received as a family, helped us through his diagnosis and management of his care.

We can’t thank the team enough for all they have done for our son. The team from consultants, doctors, sisters and nursing team and the support services on this ward all work extremely well together to make our stay and treatment so much easier for him.

Communication is clear and we are involved throughout. Also the team have established good relationships with the specialist hospital we attend in England. Which helps reassure us.

Please thank the team for everything they continue to do. We will be attending the children’s wards regularly until our son transfers to adult services when we get to that age.

Good evening zareq88

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback that you posted about ward 6 and 16. As the ward sister I would like to apologize for not replying sooner due to clinical workload. I would like to assure you that your feedback will be shared with all the team for example via our ward wats app and through our monthly ward meetings and newsletter. It was so uplifting during these stressful times. I hope your son continues to make steady progress. Best wishes

Sandra Gilchrist
