I have recently undergone radioactive plaque treatment for a cancerous Melanoma tumour to my left eye.
My Diagnosis came as a shock but was handled in such a professional manner that I was put at ease with as positive messages as possible and all questions I had at that time were answered in as much as could be. I was ,at this time, given 24hour contact numbers to call should I have wanted to contact them and ask questions.
I was then admitted to Gartnavel four weeks later, my appointment was exactly on time as stated, I was helped and put at ease from the moment I arrived and made feel I was in a situation that was totally under control, and I was!
My operation was under way one hour after arrival so being made comfortable was very important as it was all a bit of a whirlwind.
After the operation and being put in recovery it allowed me to fully appreciate the professionalism, dedication, care and humanity of the medical, nursing and ancillary staff. In the next five days over 24hours each day the attention I received was outstanding, I feel humbled that I should be worthy of such care.
