"Priceless"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Cancer Services

(as a service user),

Counselling has given me the opportunity to share honestly, and with immediacy what’s happening in my life. It has helped me to get my thoughts and feelings out of my head. This opportunity to share honestly how things really are has been priceless.

The consistency of my telephone counselling appointments have been invaluable during lockdown. Knowing it’s in the diary as a regular source of support has helped me through many difficult weeks. Although I haven’t met my counsellor in person, I have been amazed by the depth we have got to over the phone.

Counselling offers an environment in which you are given an extended period of time to be wholly listened to. Having time with a counsellor who’s skills and experience enable them to listen to and work with your emotional concerns is an invaluable experience, and I wish I could communicate this to others going through similar experiences.

Hi Terrier1

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, it is very much appreciated. I am so pleased to hear that you have had such a positive experience of counselling within our team and that your regular sessions have been of real befit to you and given you the space you need in what is an exceptionally challenging time. We would love to see you in the Fern Centre when life returns to normal and we are able to socialise again.

Warm wishes

Jess and the Counselling Team
