What I liked
Having had my first child at another hospital i was keen to compare the service i received and therefore booked in to Warwick hospital. This is a small hospital with a very friendly atmosphere where staff seem to know each other and departments work well together.
The obs care was fantastic, after identifying a breech position of my baby in the community i was seen immediately by a consultant within only a few hours, every aspect of my care was explained fully and i felt very reassured. The midwives were amazing, totally professional but with a kind and caring attitude and i was able to stay in hospital with my new baby without feeling i was taking up a bed. The maternity ward staff and paediatricians were really very good.
I would recommend having your baby at this hospital especially if you are not keen on midwife led units which are available locally.
What could be improved
Before being moved into the birthing room you are placed in an 8 bedded area with other women in active labour, i found this part of my stay quite difficult, the visitors at other beds were very loud and some had many people with them, which was quite difficult for the midwives to manage, i found that if i wanted to use the toilet or walk around, i was embarassed to walk past beds with lots of visitors.
"A positive birth experience, excellent staff,..."
