The appointment was booked 3 months before and easy to access the site. I logged on 5 minutes before appointment as requested. A recorded message said that the team knew I was there and would be with me shortly. After 30 minutes I phoned the department who told me that the doctor would contact me. A message came through after a few minutes to say that the doctor would be with me soon. After about 5 minutes he was. The consultation lasted less than 5 minutes.

I was not happy that I was kept waiting, logged on to site, for so long. Video consultations should show who is waiting and if a delay is unavoidable a message should be sent.

Dear Fantail,

I am really sorry to hear you were waiting for an extended period of time for your out patients appointment. I am not sure of the circumstances surrounding the reasons as to why the consultant was delayed in connecting with you.
Should you end up waiting again please do call the seamoor unit. If you ask to speak with one of the haematology nurses we can discuss directly as to how long the doctor will be.

In the mean time feel free to contact the Patient Liaison Service for the hospital if you would like to take this issue further.
