What I liked
The staff on the Dimbleby Breast Care unit are on the whole very caring and supportive. I felt involved in my care most of the time although some decisions were taken that I was not consulted about and I felt this was a breach of trust, having been assured that I would be consulted every step of the way. That said, I found the diagnostic procedure very well coordinated and took a lot of the stress out of a difficult time. The Nurse Practitioner was brilliant at explaining everything and was empathetic. Desptie having to travel to 2 sites this was made easy with the hospital bus and everything was done to make life as comfortable as possible.
What could be improved
At times because it is such a busy unit you don't get to see the same Consultant, and this led to some communication breakdown. Long waits in clinics (up to 2 hours at times) don't help even with free tea and coffee machines!
