I unfortunately had to attend the breast clinic in the blue zone at Crosshouse hospital. I was extremely anxious as obviously due to the pandemic I was alone.
I need not have worried. On entering the clinic area I was met with a nursing assistant who was so warm and friendly and welcomed me showing me where to go. I was taken into a room by another nursing assistant, I’m sorry I don’t remember her name but she was so lovely too and reassuring and made me feel relaxed.
Within minutes I was seen by a female doctor who was extremely thorough and was sent for an ultrasound and again both the scanning radiographer and the nursing assistant introduced themselves talked me through everything and even had me laughing. As a healthcare professional myself I know this is part of their job but unfortunately it’s not something everyone does but this day it meant the world to me and I want to say thank you.
I’d also like to praise the nhs for their response time between my referral and clinic appointment.
"On this day, their care meant the world to me"
