We live on the Isle of Arran. My 9 year old daughter fell while playing on her Rollerblades in the garden. I knew something was a miss so I took her to Arran War Memorial hospital. The nursing staff radiographer and the doctor who looked after her were fantastic. They made my daughter feel comfortable and she fully understood what had happened.
We needed to go to Crosshouse, we were given a direct access card to ensure we could travel on the next available ferry - which due to weather was a full day after the incident.
Again, our experience at Crosshouse was positive. We were on ward 1A under the care of Mr Hope. We were so well looked after. The anaesthetist looking after my daughter was so good with her ( she can't believe he doesn't like peas in his macaroni).
Given the 'new normal' I was apprehensive about having to be in a hospital, and although it was obviously a very different experiencs, we were made to feel very safe and comfortable.
Thanks to every one on Ward 1a, Mr Hope and his team and the guys in theatre.
Daughter and mum are super pleased to be home and very grateful for your care.
