My partner was told by his GP to refer himself to this service as he suffers badly with depression. We have been trying to make contact with this service for over 4 months. We have completed online referrals, emails and calls (over 6 times) leaving voicemails as no one picks up and NOT ONCE has anyone made contact with us. Given that IAPT stands for 'Improving Access to Psychological Therapies' this service is inappropriate as accessing this service is nothing short of impossible. The people who need access to psychological therapies are those with mental illness, and depression is a huge killer in our society and services like this, leave desperate people, who struggle to motivate themselves to even get up in the morning, with no hope. I am disappointed in this service beyond words and hope that those running this service can sort themselves out and begin to help people, rather than leave them without hope.
"Unacceptable"
