"The care was second to none"

About: St Michael's Hospital (Linlithgow)

(as a relative),

My mother spent the last 6 weeks of her life here and was happy to do so!

The care she received was second to none and I am so relieved that the last weeks of her life was with staff who, not only, understood her physical requirements, but made every effort for this time to be an enjoyable experience. This may sound odd, but the pastoral care that was available was so right for her and her beliefs.

Dear ENMT

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch with us at such a difficult time. Please pass on my condolences to you and your family for the loss of your mother. Please can l also apologise for the delay with my response.

It was lovely to read how you describe your mother's last 6 weeks whilst being cared for in St Michael's Hospital and how this was just right for her. Pastoral care is so important during any hospital say and even more so when someone is at the end of their life. I do hope that you are able to take comfort from this..

I have shared your lovely feedback with the senior team in West Lothian and have asked them to share this with the team at St Michael's who I am sure will be delighted to read your kind words.

Thank you again for sharing your feedback with us at this time.

With best wishes

Jeannette..
