"Grateful to all"

About: Fife Community Services / District Nursing NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as a service user),

Many many many thanks to the call centre staff and the district nurses afterwards, I have had a supra pubic for 8 years and very regularly it gets blocked (monthly). My call is always handled quickly and smoothly, so much so I know the 5 questions beforehand. So much help I feel guilty about using it so often . The district nurses are also very helpful, grateful to all. Just a quick thank you.

Thanks very much.

Hi lady K

How good of you to take the time to share your positive feedback on Care Opinion. A blocked catheter can be extremely unpleasant so you should not, at any time, feel guilty at contacting 111 for assistance. We are here to help and are only too pleased to assist. It sounds as though the District Nurses are doing a sterling job too.

You may already be aware, that for patients such as yourself, your own GP can alert NHS 24 to any specific health care needs you have. This information can be shared with us electronically which is then attached to your NHS 24 call record. This can help us when we receive a call from a patient who has ongoing health needs as this can assist our staff to ensure the best possible care is provided to patients as quickly as possible. This is called a Key Information Summary (KIS), just in case you want to discuss this with your GP. If you already have a KIS, then that's great.

Thanks again for taking the time to get in touch.

With best wishes

Shona
