What I liked
Despite the belief of many (including myself) that mental health is just a case of someone needing to slap themselves across the face and get on with it, I was so pleasantly surprised at what happened when I attended A&E pretty much at breaking point. I was seen almost immediately, which reassured me that they took me seriously and would help me the best they could.
Every single person I came into contact with was warm, friendly, approachable and listened to me when I needed it. On some occasions I could barely construct a legible sentence together about how I was feeling and was met with compassion, and I left several hours later feeling reassured, optimistic and feeling like the staff actually cared.
Nice one :-)
