"Nothing was ever too much for any of the staff"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Vascular (Blood Vessels)

(as the patient),

I required vascular surgery ( an elective repair of pseudo aneurism ) .

This being my second admission into the care of the Vascular surgical, HDU staff and Ward 215 always have excelled in my care .

From pre-admission assessment , anaesthesia assessment at all times I was kept well informed and very supported.

Following successful surgery I recovered within HDU care and ward 215

Nothing was ever too much for any of the staff who never literally stop , again both myself and my partner were kept well informed with each procedure .

I felt relaxed ( as much as one can ) in what can be a frightening environment due to the fantastic team spirit there.

I genuinely noticed the attention to hand hygiene , domestic staff never ending cleaning .

I feel privileged to have had my surgery and subsequent nursing care here .

Dear orangesg43

Many thanks for taking the time to post your story on Care Opinion. It genuinely means a lot to staff when they here what a fantastic job they have done. Your story highlights the exceptional teamwork that goes on in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to make sure that patients have the bed experience possible. It is also good to know that our efforts around infection prevention and control do not go unnoticed.

Many thanks again. I wish you a speedy recovery and a Very Merry Christmas and also good health in 2020.

Kind regards,
