"Super Mini-break at the County (with sea-view)"

About: Royal Sussex County Hospital / Accident and emergency

As an in-patient for two days, and an out-patient subsequently, I was treated from start to finish with care, respect, and first class medical treatment. All staff were wonderful, in A & E, and the Acute Medical Unit, and I was particularly impressed by the treatment of other patients with much more complex needs than myself.

Two points: maintenance (bathrooms, loos etc.) was poor; broken showers, and missing door locks, which had, apparently, been reported months ago, remained unfixed.

Staff writing down patient details on scraps of paper seemed surprising in 2019: the use of IT to digitalise information would surely increase efficiency.

Finally, the enthusiasm and professionalism of the junior [?] doctors I saw was exemplary; I felt very safe in their hands.

Well done.

Thank you for your feedback, I hope you are now recovering well at home.

I was so pleased to learn that your experience was so positive and the staff will be so grateful to read this.

Your comments about facilities and estates will be shared, I know there is on-going work around the Trust and they will be grateful for this feedback.

With best wishes

Hannah Pacifico

Patient Experience Manager
