I had a double partial knee replacement operation at Torbay Hospital on 19th July and spent 3 days in the Ella Rowcroft ward. I have made a rapid recovery.
I would like to say that the standard of care I received was absolutely excellent. My consultant surgeon was a consummate professional and he communicated procedures to me in a way that was both understandable and re-assuring. The ward staff, cleaners, catering staff, health care assistants, nursing staff, physiotherapists and doctors on Ella Rowcroft demonstrated care and compassion that is in the finest traditions of the NHS. I cannot thank them enough.
The care team who visited me at home and the subsequent physiotherapy appointments that I had were also excellent.
As an NHS professional myself, I am very proud and thankful for the brilliant standard of care I received. I would appreciate it if you could pass my thanks and appreciation on to all of the staff concerned. Some 8 weeks later I am now back at work and improving every day. It's made a huge difference to the quality of my life.
"Wonderful and caring service."
