My wifes' consultant wanted her to have a CT scan within 4 weeks and wanted to see her on the 5th week.
Ashford & St Peters Hospital trust who have 2 facilities were unable to give her an appointment untill the 6th week.
As CT scans are so effective to diagnose symptoms, I would like to know why the equipment is only available during the day and there is no priority in dealing with any backlog.
Patients who require this type of diagnosis would only be too happy to turn up for a scan in the dead of night if it meant earlier diagnosis.
Can someone please explain why these and other vital pieces of equipment are not used to maximise their usage.
"CT scan waiting lists excessive"
