Visted the clinic today with my Grandfather in regard to a number of eye complaints he has. He has been under Russells Hall for a number of years. .He phoned earlier today to seek advice as he felt his eyesight had deteriorated. We areived at the clinic believing that Grandad had an appointment at 2pm, however, we were informed at the desk that it was an emergency appointment and we had no choice but to sit and wait.
We sat down at 1.45pm.in the waiting room and we finallh walked out at 4.14pm. Whilst i cannot praise the staff highly enough for their kindness i can say how disgusted I am how long people, (many of which are elderly), are expected to sit for hours waiting to be seen by staff. I strongly suggest that this department and how it is run/organised is looked into and ways are found to greatly improve the running of this clinic. I understand that emergencies crop up but that is no excuse for what i feel is a very poorly mismanaged department.
