"Extremely poor care from the Woodlands ward"

About: Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust

I have been sent to the Woodlands ward for my now 3 month old boy 3 times. On the first occasion I left feeling petrified being told I need to come back Monday as my 7 week old may need an operation on his stomach but a scan is required to confirm. They were unable to do this on the Friday due to no staff and I was made to wait till Monday, as you can understand I am a new first time mum to twin boys, this was extremely worrying for someone who is already exhausted and struggling. I returned on the Monday at 10am as told for the scan to find out nothing was booked and I had to wait 3 hours for the scan, disgusted.following the scan the results where clear so I returned to Woodlands to find out the next step, which I was told it must be reflux and to carry on with the medication. 3 weeks later with no improvement I called again and was told they can't help and I need to go to my GP. Having then called my GP I was told they can only prescribe a drug which is weaker of that which he was on. Frustrated my doctor called Woodlands and they agreed to see me. I arrived at 6.30pm and wasn't seen until 9.30 which I had to go over everything as if no notes were made previously. We left at 11 with gaviscon saying we need to buy reflux milk and trial it for 4 weeks, which I know they can prescribe the gaviscon and renitidine is in fact working but to put the cherry ontop of the cake I can't now get a repeat prescription because Woodlands have not sent my Dr's any information and when I called them they said "they will do it by the end of the week". The only one loosing out here is my 3 month old who is in alot of pain because notes have note been sent, something which I assume should be done straight away. I really hope I am not sent back here.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your visits to Woodlands ward. I am very sorry for the delay in responding to your feedback, but please be assured PALS will pass on your feedback as this is very important to the Trust.
