"Dupuytrens's Contracture procedure success"

About: Royal Surrey County Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

I was washing this morning and realised that I had not thanked the Surgeon for giving me back full use of my hand only 4 months after the collagenase injection and subsequent manipulation. It would be nice to be able to include before and after photos, since my little finger was almost bent back to the palm with the ring finger rapidly getting that way. They are now almost completely straight thanks also to the efforts of Physiotherapist in creating a splint that I shall wear at night for just a few more months to ensure the fingers don't regress. I am so used to it now that there is no discomfort at all. Among the other benefits I have are to be able to grasp the bicycle rear brake with more than just two fingers making me feel a lot safer. Finally able to clap with two hands again!
