I visited PRH A and E on 08/04/2019. My parking receipt shows I was there for 5 hours and 1 minute. I suffered a fall in Liverpool in the early hours of Sunday 07/04/2019. The Accident and Emergency Unit there was extremely busy but I was dealt with and on my way within 2 hours. At the time I never realised that I had also injured my right wrist which became badly swollen, resulting in my visit to PRH. I was x rayed at PRH fairly quickly and was told to wait to see a Doctor or a Nurse Practitioner. I waited for four hours, once seeking permission to visit the coffee bar, (I am diabetic), and once reminding a member of staff that I had been waiting for three and a half hours since my x Ray. After a total of 5 hours, I did not feel well and decided that I had to go. I did inform the Receptionist. Imagine my delight at being charged £6.00 for the privilege of parking as I left. Please understand that I do accept waiting in a busy department. It is however most galling to watch people, who are clearly walking wounded, arrive much later and leave much sooner after only having been with the practitioner for a few moments. Having been critical, I feel it is only right to say that the staff I spoke to were all very pleasant and professional in their conduct towards me.
"5 hour wait. In the end I gave up."
