"Attending the EPEC Parenting Course"

About: Manton Children's Centre

(as a parent/guardian),

I attended the EPEC Parenting Course for a number of weeks to help build my confidence and skills within parenting. It helped me make new parent friends to which we shared views, opinions and skills etc. with each other. We engaged in different tasks to help build our awareness of parenting.

Within this course I gained a lot of knowledge and confidence which made me feel happier within myself as a parent. I did however feel a little nervous at the start of the course as it was new to me and didn't know anyone. However, as the course went on I found that I settled down a lot and was able to talk and share my opinions and ideas.

Hi JR000

Thanks for sharing your story

Training courses are really daunting to attend especially if you don't know anyone. It takes alot of courage to walk through that door for the first time so well done for attending.

It sounds like you gained alot from the course and hopefully this will give you the confidence to attend further training.

Being a parent is the hardest job in the world and it sounds like this course has helped you gain a better understanding of how to deal with the challenges you may face.

glad it helped and I will pass on your comments to our fantastic parent group leaders

I can see from your lovely comments that the course has obviously had an impact on you and your family and how your confidence has grown as a parent.

Talking to other parents helps you realise that you are not on your own and as Andy has previously said being a parent is hard work.

Building new friendships is a great way of sharing the highs and lows of family life and as they always say a problem shared is a problem halved.

Thank you for letting us know about your experience.
