I have recently spent a few days in ward C33 following 8.5 hours of neck surgery for throat cancer and was naturally very anxious about everything.
My consultant and the ward staff recognised this and were all very reassuring and considerate about my emotional well being, as well as the day to day aspects of care such as pain relief and neck steps.
I cannot stress how good all the staff were from the cleaners to consultants, all had immense pride in their work and all did their very best to ensure your stay and care were as comfortable as possible.
This is great example what 'outstanding patient care' is and reinforces my personal view that the NHS is the best service in the world, by far.
Thank you all for your patience, kind words and inspirational care, it has helped me get through a very tough time in my life and I now feel very positive about the future.
"Exceptional care and staff"
