An absolutely truly dreadful experience, my son was seen 3 times in the most cursory way before being put on to anti depressants against my better judgement.
The so called counselling stage was dreadful and they were constantly looking to medicate from the beginning.
Luckily my son who was 16 at the time worked it out quickly and ditched the mediation.
I'm not saying some people should use medication as help if its needed and its a life saver for some but he didn't - referral to a local counselling group like Ealing Abbey or Metanoia would have been a much better solution - I only found these groups after the event and now of course having experienced CAMHS poor attempts he won't go!
Damage done by them as far as I'm concerned.
Sledge hammer to crack a nut!
