I was admitted through the GP out of hours service to the surgical assessment at ARU5 where I received excellent and inspiring treatment from nurse practitioner, Gemma - she was lovely and a true inspiration to myself as a student nurse. I was then transferred through to the ward at ARU5 where I waited for ultrasounds, and latterly, surgery, where all the staff were attentive and lovely.
Post surgically, I was moved up to ward 9D where everyone was, again, lovely, student nurses included, and provided excellent care. Unfortunately, there was one auxiliary that was only in for one day in which I was that was very rude and proceeded to walk into my room and ask whether I was planning on getting out of bed before swiftly turning round and walking out before I had a chance to reply. And in answer to you - as I couldn’t walk easily, or sit up straight; no, I was not. Disappointing way to speak to patients when everyone else providing care was so attentive and friendly.
"Ward 9D, mainly excellent care!"
