"Very effective service"

Having never used this service before, I wasn’t sure what to expect or even if I was using it for the correct reason (wanted advice on breathing problems I had experienced over night as part of swollen glands / fever etc..) My call was answered very quickly and the operator was very reassuring. It was a bit disconcerting to have to answer a wide of set questions but this had been explained before hand. I was told a gp would ring me which happened within a short timescale. The gp was again very efficient and reassuring and arranged for an out of hours gp appointment to be organised at the local hospital.

The process was a little long winded but very efficient and played a vital role in getting me to AandE for the treatment I needed (it would not have occurred to me that I needed a & e support at the point of contacting 111 and so wouldn’t have gone until much worse which could, apparently, have been Very detrimental for my health.) I am very grateful for the support I received from the 111 service.
