(as a relative),

My mum is currently in Lightburn Hospital and I think that they should have more staff to care for the elderly patients  the staff that are there just now are doing what they can but they need more help

Thank you for your comments posted on Care Opinion.

In Lightburn Hospital, and indeed across GGC Health Board, our nurse staffing levels are set to ensure we have the right staff available in the right place, with the necessary skills and training required.

At times, it can be challenging to operate at full staffing levels due to sickness absence, leave, recruitment gaps etc, and on occasion we are stretched in our ability to back fill these gaps. We do however move staffing resource across the North Sector of Glasgow (which covers Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Stobhill ACH and Lightburn Hospital) to maintain patient safety at all times and to try and ensure our staff are not put under undue pressure.

As with all our services, we would welcome more staff to care for our patients and we thank you for supporting that, however please be assured our wards are staffed to a level aimed at ensuring the safety of our patients and our staff at all times.

Again, we welcome such feedback and thank you for taking the time to comment.
