On Sunday I went to a&e Grantham. An abscess had grown rapidly over the weekend and I was very unwell. The staff there reacted quickly, taking my vital readings and providing an iv line. They told me I would need to be transferred to Lincoln for surgery asap.
I was admitted to the surgical ward in Lincoln to await the operation. The nursing staff Colette and Kim, checked upon me regularly, took time to reassure me and kept me informed as to the timing of events. The operation was on Monday morning and a very kind nurse Nora stayed with me when I was scared.
The medical care has hopefully removed the infection. However, the kindness of the nursing staff, the shared smiles, finding of shower gel to allow a freshen up, someone holding your hand or patting your shoulder to let you know you are not alone, is priceless.
Thank you.
