My GP sent me through to the ward 4 Times over a 2 week span with my symptoms and previous medical history. I also visited a+e who sent me your to ambulatory care ward. I had some ultra sounds done, and blood taken and told it was an infection. Given antibiotics and sent home. After taking 3 different lots of antibiotics and alot of my usual high strength pain relief I wasn't getting any better. So I was sent back in to the ambulatory care ward. Yet again I was sent home and just told to keep taking the tablets (no blood was taken this time) a few days went by and I was rolling around in agony so my GP sent me back to the care ward. This time I was told I would need urgent surgery the next day and my blood results had shown an increase in infection.
I am disappointed that I was sent home in pain so many times especially on the the 1st ultra sound I had it was noted my bowel was clearly seen but when I was being sent home I mentioned this and was told it was all ok. I feel like my strangulated hernia should have been picked up on my 1st or even 2nd visit.
